No, we’re not bad people. And I’m not better than you because I’m Vegan. There’s an obvious disconnect between what we’re told to do and our morals. Society has normalized the exploitation of animals in the food, entertainment, and even clothing industries, to name a few. From birth we were raised by our parents to eat animals, our schools promoted the consumption of milk, and those commercials in-between shows never told us otherwise.

Logical, rational people would never use the pleasure they get from the taste of bacon, as a justification for needlessly slaughtering an innocent animal. I’m not saying you’re not logical or rational if you’re not a Vegan though. I’m pointing out how conditioning works, and it works pretty damn well. You’re not a bad person for consuming animals. You are, however, most likely not consciously participating in something that you are against morally.
