When someone says the words ‘routine mission’ you shouldn’t believe them.
A routine mission is some surveillance, maybe a stakeout.
Maybe it’s taking back a file from an empty office building on the weekend.
Or even a press conference with one or two ‘complicated’ questions.
You know whats not a routine mission?
Seven guys in your apartment building holding you and your girlfriend at gunpoint while your best friend is out getting burgers.
“This was not how tonight was supposed to go, you know this right?”
I sigh, moving against the ropes keeping my hands suspended in the air.
“Really? Because I always thought you had a bondage kink.”
The woman says sarcastically, pulling hard on her ropes.
I retort, watching the woman pull as far from the wall as she can before leaping forwards.
Kicking off the wall, she braces her weight with her wrists and locks her ankles around the rope, dangling upside down now.
“I’ve never doubted your abilities, Tasha, but how exactly is you showing off going to help?”
“I’m not showing off.”
Her voice is strained, her face quickly turning a shade of scarlet from the blood rushing into her head.
Her fingers moves deftly over the knots before she is falling to the ground, landing quietly on the cement.
“Don’t doubt me next time.”
She scoffs, glancing out the door before walking over to me, fingers lingering on the knot.
“I want an apology.”
“What are you even talking about?”
I gape, her eyes narrowing.
“You called me a show off.”
“We would already be out of here if you hadn’t been stubborn.”
I hiss, watching Natasha roll her eyes.
“Please, all I asked for was an apology.”
“One you certainly don’t deserve!”
I huff, grabbing her shoulders and pressing her against a wall as alarms blare around us.
“You’re just mad you aren’t flexible enough to do what I did.”
She whispers, poking my chest.
“Oh please, we get out of this mess and I’ll show you just how flexible I can be.”
I murmur, her cheeks turning a shade of red as she smacks me.
“All I know is Steve better not have eaten all my French fries.”
