I just want to take the time to address the youth, especially my young cousins following me: Social media is fun. I love it. I love connecting and sharing images and thoughts and making new friends in my city and around the world.
I also understand that what I put out has power for negative or good or nothing at all. It is up to me to use it responsibly.
Following me you will see a lot of little moments, many may appear picture perfect, but I assure, this is only a snapshot. Real life is hard for everybody, no matter who they are, we all struggle in some way. So no matter what you see or hear on social media, don’t take that as a complete picture of someone’s life. No matter what you are going through, no matter how difficult it is, it will pass and one day your struggles will lead you to others needing help, people who may have not been able to be reached until they found you.
If you ever feel alone and you need someone to talk to, please reach out to me.
I am a woman now, but not long ago, I was a child and I had to work through my own difficulties. I still have to work through my own difficulties, so just know you are not alone.
Even though the world doesn’t quite view you as wise just yet, I know you are. Every generation leads change. You have a purpose. You are meant to be courageous, you have insight, you have a voice, you are powerful and meant to lead big change, don’t ever forget that. Hold on tight to your passion, it will lead you to your purpose.
