But let me tell you, let me hand you a big fluffy bag of
HOPE.

I had Anxiety, from a kid, panic attacks from 21, Generalised anxiety disorder and agoraphobia for six months. .
You must understand one thing. Anxiety and panic is your stress responce, your survival mode. That means your body is preparing to fight flight or freeze a perceived danger! .
"No danger hear" you say.

Think again my Love,
constant stress,
worry, fear,
guilt,
feeling of a hopeless situation,
trauma: bullying: childhood environment: giving birth :becoming a parent (sudden 24/7 job/career for a littleun you love dearly) we say "we're having a baby" you don't realise until after, you are raising an amazing small person that needs us forever and every minute and the responsibility is immense!
Witnessing violence
Any situation that has been traumatic, divorces, split families. Etc

CONSTANT STRESS IS THE PERCEIVED DANGER

Anything that makes you feel bad should be validated and you are allowed to own the way you feel, it's ok not to be ok.
.
So in this stress responce it is virtually impossible to think and make sense of things, so you def feel helpless, but when you turn this off with relaxation, mindfulness, cbt techniques, talking about how you are feeling. The stress responce turns off and it is then poosible to think straight. The hope comes back, it gets better and better and better before you can tackle the things that must change and anything life throws at you. .
With help and admitting I wasn't ok, I got through it, 18 years without panic and agoraphobia, I had no hope, I remember how it felt the most scary days of my life, and times so scary I didn't want my life to continue.

To those who don't know how it feels... For me personally, there's a huge difference between hearing the advise of someone who HAS experienced a mental health issue to hearing it from someone who doesn't know how it feels... This is in no way being ungrateful, it must be incredibly difficult being on the other side of it watching someone's mental health deteriorate whilst being unable to relate.

From my own experience and from conversations I have had with others who have suffered mentally, when we talk about support, we don't mean advise. We don't want answers. We're not asking for suggestions. What many of us are looking for is to be heard; to be heard by someone who is willing to put themselves in our shoes, someone who won't judge us against "the norm", someone who is patient, someone who gives a good hug. When we want advise we'll ask for it, when we talk about what we're going through, we don't want your next line to be "what you should do is..." we would rather you asked "how can I help you?"... We may say "you can't" but just knowing there's someone in our corner makes a difference.

Just as I have experienced in councelling, my Insta is an outlet primarily for ordering my thoughts and coming to conclusions MYSELF. I welcome input based on experience. I read it all, I process it, I enjoy and take interest in the discussion. I feel part of something bigger rather than being the odd one out. However, I know what is and isn't right for me. Ultimately I want to succeed because of the decisions I have made myself.
Let us discover and own our victories, just give us a hand to hold on the way there.

Had another good day today! I had spent most of the day, from 11am until 4/5pm in the garden, painting our fences for the second time and doing more gardening. Tomorrow I’ll be helping my Dad pull the side gate down and build a new one from scratch. I didn’t have a single panic attack today! I was barely even anxious being outside all that time. I am starting to feel a cold coming on though 😪 hope everyone’s had a lovely week and has an even better weekend ♥️

Wie geht das, wenn so viel in einem dazu drängt, diese Pflicht nicht zu erfüllen, sie sogar zu streichen? - Ich spiele Mensch-Ärgere-Dich-Nicht. Nachts. Runde um Runde um Runde.
- Lesen. Wie immer. Den Kopf mit Worten füllen.
- Atmen. Ein Atemzug nach dem anderen.
- Schlafen wann immer es geht.
- Meine Therapeutin anrufen und ihr sagen: “Ich wollte nur kurz versprechen, dass wir uns am Montag sehen“
- Den Kopf füllen mit allem anderen, damit für Suizidgedanken nicht mehr so viel Raum bleibt. Ich schreibe es noch 1000 und ein Mal: In Verbindung bleiben, vor allem innerlich, und darüber sprechen und wenn gar nichts mehr geht: In die Klinik fahren und somit Verantwortung übernehmen und auf sich aufpassen.

Und ganz wichtig: Ins Bett mummeln. Einfach daliegen und Musik hören und sich vor Augen halten wofür ich dankbar bin und wissen: Durchhalten lohnt sich und egal was in meinem Kopf ist: Ich möchte leben. 🍀🌱🍀 Ich atme mit allen, die dafür kämpfen sicher durchs Wochenende zu kommen. 🌸

The best part of the 5k was having my mother there to run and support me and running side by side with these two my best friend Cat and the founder of 50 States, 50 days, 5k for Mental Health, Adel Korkor. Adel has worked in medicine for almost 40 years. He has had his own personal experiences with panic disorder and felt that mental health has always been pushed to the side. Yesterday I ran my first 5k and for the best reason: Mental Health. As some of you may know MAY is mental health month. Mental health is also my passion and my platform for the Miss America Organization. 1 in 5 American adults will have a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year. 50% Of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition sometime in their life and half of those will develop conditions by the age of 14. The numbers tell us mental health conditions are common so why are we still afraid to talk about them?
