Last year I made the decision to follow my dreams and pursue my certification through @acefitness and begin my personal training career. I’m am so happy to announce that I did it!!! Even through all the trials and tribulations life has thrown my way I have still been able to accomplish my goal. Now I will be able to inspire others to do the same. To keep going after their dreams and aspirations even when it hurts and it seems like there is no hope, no light at the end of the tunnel... because with God ALL things are possible!!

🚨Long post alert 🚨 I have been flying under the radar for the most part this prep. I haven’t posted many pics to social media or made many posts about prepping. But I decided to post my progress thus far. Am I where I want to be? Nope! Am I proud of how far I’ve come? Hell yeah! I took last year off to enjoy life and clearly food and beverage a little too much.😂🙈 I knew I wanted to compete again and decided to work with @hdfit_ifbbpro . There are many reasons I decided to ask her to be my coach a few of those being the fact that she’s a female and can relate to me and my struggles, her work ethic, and the fact that she’s a a total badass. What I quickly discovered though was that she actually cared about me and my health which I truly appreciate. We’ve overcome quite a few hurdles in the 5 months we’ve been working together like hormone and thyroid issues. But she has been nothing but supportive, understanding, and encouraging. She’s dieted me differently than my last two coaches and I admit I was skeptical at first because she’s kept carbs in my diet😱, but it’s working for me. I’m sure we will cut them eventually but we will cross that bridge when it comes.😂 She also took me outside my comfort zone when it came to my workouts. She had me doing exercises I had never done before and I was terrified at first. I quickly learned that I’m a lot stronger than I ever gave myself credit for and I’ve continued to get stronger. The most important thing she’s done for me though and she doesn’t even realize it, is that she has helped me gain a new confidence that I’ve not had before. Trainer Tuesday➡️ In 2007, while waiting in the checkout line at a grocery store, Hope Rinehart saw a frightening magazine headline.......”Every year after 26, the average American women gains one pound of fat and loses 1/2 pound of muscle.” Hope was only months away from turning 25 and had never been athletic, played sports or worked out.

The day after seeing the article, she joined a gym and soon found herself working with trainers who inspired her and changed the direction of her life and health. Several years into her own fitness journey, Hope realized she wanted to change lives and inspire people too.

Hope completed her American Council on Exercise certification in 2012, and is currently a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. For the past four years, she has worked with individuals and small groups in fitness environments. Her ultimate goal is to empower others by teaching exercise as a means to improved wellness, self-care and quality of life. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina.

My goal as a trainer is to encourage my clients to go beyond their comfortable limit by picking up a heavier weight or do one more burpee, while still having fun. I truly believe the stronger and fitter you are, the more resilient you are in life. I want my clients to walk out of the studio feeling proud, strong and accomplished.
I am also qualified Health Coach and currently studying nutrition and herbal medicine. When I am not in the F45 studio or studying, you will find me cooking, making kombucha, spending time with my 4 years old daughter, reading or traveling. #F45 #teamtraining #trainer

I searched for confidence outside of myself for most of my life. I hoped that validation from others would fill this hole in my heart. It never did.

The 2 biggest game changers when it came to self love were:
.
1. Going to therapy and getting tools and support for my anxiety and depression. Unpacking the lies of where my worthiness comes from that I had picked up along my journey, lies I had internalized from society, and story lines I had latched onto in my brain. They would replay like a ticker tape, be perfect, do more, look perfect, stay small. Through therapy I've been able to return the stories that no longer serve me, that don't belong to me, that shouldn't belong to anyone really. Then deciding what MY values were, how I wanted to live my life and, doing my best each day to live up to that.

2. Working out. .
Anxiety and depression are sneaky jerks that infect our brains with bullshit trying to convince us of our smallness, our worthlessness, our unworthiness
.
But under a barbell, on a bike, with a weight, I cannot deny my power. After every workout, I feel better, more connected to myself, and unwilling to believe the lies my brain tries to convince me of......
.

What is your favorite core exercise?

A lot of strength athletes ignore core specific exercises. We tend to think of abs as “mirror muscles.” Sure, a visible 6pack doesn’t mean much in the big picture of strength, but it is still important to train ALL the muscles in your body. The core isn’t just abs; it includes the transverse abdominis, obliques, multifidius... really anything center mass responsible for holding the top half of your body to the bottom half can be considered core muscles.

Many exercises, when done properly, engage the core. But the act of bracing during large compound movements isn’t targeted or specific, and specificity is a key component to any training. And think of how much better you can brace when those muscles are stronger!!

Take 5 minutes at the end of each workout for some targeted core work. Dead bugs and kettlebell sidebends are my current faves. 🐞

Have you heard of meal prepping and not know where to start? Here are some tips that I have learned along the way and items that I purchase that make prepping faster. I’m someone who does not like wasting my time. I always think of the fastest and most efficient way of prepping.

My go to appliances are: 👉hand held blender
👉crock pot
👉waffle maker
👉instapot
👉spiralizer
👉 bbq
👉 food scale
.
I cook all my meat at once.
Cut up and store my veggies in bulk.
Make my grains and put them in containers.
.
Once I’ve done all that I then weigh and package each meal! It takes about 2 hours! I plan to do it sundays and Wednesdays! This saves a lot of time during the week as I get home at 730 bc of gym. I prep when I don’t have to go to the gym ! If you have any questions drop me a note below or DM me!❤️

💥Coach Tip Tuesday ➡️ When it’s really warm outside, supplement your water with electrolytes (sodium, potassium, etc) 💦 You’re losing a lot of electrolytes when you sweat excessively, so replacing them is key for being able to still perform in the heat. @nuunhydration is my favorite because there are so many flavors, it’s easy to transport, and there is very little sugar. Just drop in a tab and go! 🙌🏼 I like to drink one before or after a run (and anytime during the day if I’m feeling sluggish), as well as take it with me for longer runs (along with my water) 🏃🏼‍♀️ You can get them at a local running store - such as @runpacers if you’re in DC or at retailers like @wholefoods and @rei 😎 What’s your favorite electrolyte drink?? Trainer Tuesday is back. We would like to introduce and welcome Chris to the North Lakes crew. Chris has come on board as our membership guru but you will also see him out there coaching from time to time and also grabbing pics n videos for social media so make sure you smile when he has a 🎥 in his hands.
Now for a little about him,
A QLD boy who grew up on the Sunshine Coast, I joined the navy as a sweet 17yr old boy spending and was posted all around the country. I had the honour of travelling the world, including 3 deployments to the middle east before the birth of my 2 children in 2010. After my final deployment to the middle east having a significant impact on my son, I made the decision that 20yrs was enough and it was time to spend more time with my family. Based on this decision I completed my Certificate 4 in fitness late 2016 whilst undertaking work experience at F45 Training Rockingham (WA). After continuing my journey with F45 Rockingham as a Trainer, I took the bold leap and decided to start my own F45 in Canning Vale (WA). I opened my studio in 2016 and was blessed to get to know the most amazing people, but the call of family was too strong and we made the decision to relocate to Burpengary so my kids had a closer relationship with there grandparents, Aunty and Uncles.

My favourite exercise is Burpee’s with a nice big clap.

The most amazing place I ever visited during my time in the Navy was Jordan in the middle east where I Petra, The rose-coloured city. A city believed to have existed 4000yrs BC and all the building were carved into the mountains, amazing.

Trainer Tuesday 🤓 so today’s video is less of a shoe Review and more of a chat about pronation! It’s a word thrown around in the industry of footwear but what is it? Is it always bad? I discuss in the video above ☺️ Key thing I want you to take away from this is that some of the worlds greatest runners like Keninesa Bekele (sub 2:10 marathon runner) pronate a lot and it has no bearing on your ability as a runner!

Ps I’m aware my action for dorsiflexion with the shoe initially looks like plantar flexing 🙈
