Happy New Year! I'm proud to say that my husband and I have already completed our first trip of the year. We spent 4 1/2 days in the motherland: Florida! Our flights were virtually FREE! We only paid a total of $22.40 for both of our round trip tickets, because:
1. My husband and I almost exclusively fly @southwestair
2. We are #RapidRewards members
3. There are a lot of opportune times to fly during the year, and the beginning of the year is one of them. Think about it, after everyone has spent so much money during the holiday season, and after school has started again, the demand for leisure travel decreases during the first month or two of the year. The prices for our flight were low, and... 4. Our #RapidReward points covered the cost! We only paid $5.60 each way for taxes and fees! Thus, our "free" flights to Florida!
We flew into #Tampa on Thursday evening, and spent time in Plant City, where my husband is from. We drove to #Orlando on Sunday morning, spent quality time with family and friends and landed back in Dallas last night (Tuesday). There were soooooo many things that we did, and yet so much stuff that we couldn't get to. (Maybe next time Mickey 😉). I'm excited to share my trip highlights with you guys:
1-5: Sunday evening dinner at @thesugarfactory in Orlando. A restaurant/dessert shop/candy shop that turns into a party every 5 minutes (hence the waiters dancing on the benches). Throw away any plans to have an intimate conversation with your significant other. You're more likely to be twerking in your seat. 😉
6-8: Visted our Alma Mater: the University of Central Florida. Class of 2012! Whoop Whoop! #ucf #ucfknights #goknights #chargeon #andallthatgoodstuff
9-10: An improtu date night at the #wineroom on Park Avenue in #winterpark . The fanciest avenue in the Greater Orlando area! Where you're more likely to see a Bentley parallel parked outside, rather than a drunk and stumbling college student. As a former Orlandian, I used to refer to Park Avenue as the "grown folk's downtown"
