Your 20s (but maybe for some your 30s,40s or 50s) is you trying to sift through things you thought you knew- passions you felt, what was familiar and safe. It’s a time of challenging yourself to think outside the box of what “would be” versus what should be. A time of the harsh realities of life awakening to you and those optimistic child-like views slowly falling away... Life hardening your heart to what’s around you. I find myself (overly) carefully seeking for answers, constantly “playing it safe” because I wanted to hold on so dearly to what I thought I knew. It feels like life is starting over; asking questions, re-constructing, searching for new perspective, etc. I’ve been encouraged to read through the Proverbs slowly and carefully... To soak up the wisdom and discernment from the Word and let it move me to action // Fill your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being. So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. Avoid dishonest speech and pretentious words. Be free from using perverse words no matter what!
