How Can I Make Sure to eat enough ProteIn?
You need around 10% of your calories coming from protein which comes down to 50-60 grams, depending on your weight, size, and activity. The exact calculation would be 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight per day, so you can see for yourself how much you would need personally. Please note that there is no such thing as a “protein deficiency” in individuals who eat enough calories, aka who are not starving themselves. Every whole plant-based food has some protein, most average around 10-20% of protein. You can most always meet your needs simply by eating a variety of foods. Plant-based protein is preferable because it isn’t as harmful as animal protein and you don’t even need to combine any vegan foods to get “complete protein”. This has been debunked a long time ago. All essential amino acids are found in plants. Focus on whole grains, vegetables, beans and lentils in your diet.
