In the early hours of the evening on April 15th 2019, a devastating fire broke out in the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France - as it engulfed the historic monument, and before fire fighters even extinguished the blaze, the world came together and raised millions of euros to contribute to the rebuilding of the monument... But today, in the forest of Brazil, the Amazon is burning, and has been for 3 weeks, but nothing, silence has been the norm on this catastrophic event, just recently we saw one article on this issue but her nothing has been done... The lungs of this earth is burning up, engulfed in flames and yet we let it burn... Maybe it's not a historic monument, and yes maybe it's just a forest - but this forest not only harbors exotic life forms, but also provides our essential ingredient for life - oxygen.
At the end of the day, who cares if we cannot breath if we have a new Notre Dame... This is just an event out of many recent disastrous consequences of our negligence to acknowledge climate change is a threat to human life... Things need to be done, not tomorrow, but today! We can not wait any longer as every second lost in advocating for action, is energy lost in the possibility to change! .
