I want to share what Disneyland has meant to me over the last few years.
Disneyland has always been one of my loves; however, three years ago I suffered a pinched nerve in my lower back and it caused foot drop in my right leg, leaving parts of my leg and foot numb. It was pretty scary and luckily a chiropractor friend was able to put me on a decompression table right away and after two treatments, I was able to partially lift my foot and keep it from dragging. Physical medicine doctors and PT were also a huge help in my recovery. I still to this day have three numb toes, partial numbness on my ankle and tons of nerve pain from the nerves healing. I have off days but I do see progress in my leg, ankle and foot. I would say my leg and foot are about 75% back to normal, which is huge from what other patients have had. I have been taking Gabapentin for the nerve pain, which can cause some depression, nothing serious but there is some. As for my own personal PT, I have to do a lot of walking for strengthening... This is where Disneyland has been a huge help. The park allows me to spend hours and miles of therapy, not just the physical but it has helped me mentally through all of this, especially when I felt so helpless and wondering if I would ever be able to fully walk on my right leg again. Disneyland has always been my happy place but today it is so much more. I feel 150% when I get into the park, I’m still 75% but mentally I’m at 150%!! I have also had a love of photography ever since I got my first camera at 8 and I’ve been shooting landscapes, portraits and even weddings ever since. I really started focusing on my Disneyland photography while doing my “Disney Therapy” as I often call it. Combining two loves has really helped. Last, and the most important, has been my girlfriend. Cheznie, your love and support has meant more than you will ever know. Cheznie doesn’t always get to go up to Disneyland with me but when she can go, I cherish those times the most... I also cant’t thank my Mom and Dad enough... I’m sorry for the long caption but I just wanted to open up. If you ever see me shooting in the parks, come say hi😀🏰
