I had the opportunity to photograph Little Big Town during one of their rehearsals. Known for their signature harmonies, I was hooked from the start. This vocal quartet has been making music for over 20 years now and this year they're in full strength. Here, Kimberly Schlapman, one part of this vocal quartet sings of heartbreak. At this year's Country Music Awards they're up for Vocal Group of the Year (they took it home last year), Single of the Year (for Taylor Swift penned, 'Better Man'), Video of the Year (also for 'Better Man'), and Album of the Year (for their eighth studio album, 'The Breaker'). Karen Fairchild from the group told The Boot, 'The record is called The Breaker for multiple reasons, I think there’s lots of ways that you get broken. I think there are some times you are the breaker. Sometimes it’s like looking ahead at the future and what’s on the horizon, breaking. Just so many ways it ties into the record, and for us as as a band.' It's one of the reasons I love country music so much. It's tells the truth about all of us.
