As a 12-year-old, Rana Yousry signed up for an extracurricular activity at school to learn about couture. Little did she know that that moment would determine what she would be doing for the rest of her life. Since that moment, Rana found herself falling in love with design. Drawing inspiration from all her surroundings and making use of any opportunity to sketch in her pad, she started designing unique dresses for herself, her family and her friends.
Immediately after graduating, an immensely passionate Rana was determined to make it as a designer. Along with two friends, she began designing and stitching in a small room in her house. And she ended up designing her first two collections in that room.
Rana then took her career a step further when she completed an Intensive Diploma in Fashion Designing with non-other than “Marc Jacobs” and interned at “Tony Ward Couture”.
She earned the Dubai Design & Fashion Council membership and is a first-prize winner of La Mode A Bayreuth where she was recognized by the jury for her distinguished work.
After years of working in the many areas of the fashion industry, Rana decided to found ASORY in 2016. Since then, she has been working tirelessly to put ASORY’s name on the global fashion map as a fashion house that is renowned for its unique sensual touch and expert craftsmanship.
Rana Yousry will be joining us as one of the coaches for “The Fashion Project”. She is going to be explaining the process of fashion design in detail and at the end of the program, she will select some of the participants to become trainees at ASORY for a month.
