The most common forms of stretches are static and dynamic:

Static stretches involve holding a stretch in a comfortable position for a period of time, typically between 10 and 30 seconds. This form of stretching is most beneficial after you exercise.
Dynamic stretches are active movements that cause your muscles to stretch, but the stretch is not held in the end position. These stretches are usually done before exercise to get your muscles ready for movement.

Parsva bhuja dandasana is an advanced side arm-balancing posture commonly known as dragonfly pose. From Sanskrit, it translates literally to "side arm staff pose" or "side arm stick pose."

This posture is best suited for experienced yogis who have developed openness in their hips as well as strength in their core and shoulders. A challenging posture, it requires patience and time to master. Achieving the pose can boost confidence and help yogis connect with their inner strength and help them deepen their body awareness. It is also said to be a very cleansing pose.

Parsva bhuja dandasana should be practiced mindfully, staying connected with the breath. It can be particularly useful for developing mindfulness as entering and exiting the pose requires focus and control. The challenging balance makes it a good posture for building mind-body connection, awareness and concentration.

This posture, like many advanced arm balances, can be helpful for teaching a more lighthearted and fun approach to yoga practice. Balancing table or bird dog is a restorative / semi resting pose (or exercise, depending on how you know it). It improves balance and coordination as you're moving one arm and the opposite leg. It also builds core strength and lengthens your spine.
If you're doing it as a bird dog, add a pulse (get into the exercise and then slightly lift and go back to the original position) so you can work your bum too 😋

Does a quick stretch in-between your office hours or just before and after sports activity really help? .

There is little evidence to prove that stretching just before and after workout helps prevent injury and soreness ..
BUT there is much evidence to prove that a regular stretching program, such as a regular Yoga practice can make muscles both - stronger and flexible, which helps increase sports-specific range of motion and reduces risk of injury. .

So don't just stretch when you feel the pain or discomfort due to long working hours or a sports routine - instead consider making stretching a bigger part of your life - a standalone element of your fitness routine. .

Dedicate at least  20 minutes three times a week to Yoga stretches - to alleviate the tightness and overuse patterns brought on by daily activities.
