Scrambled Eggs at Street1Cafe, served with sausage, grilled tomato, baked beans and grilled mushrooms.
I'm not usually a fan of scrambled eggs because they are so easily undercooked or overcooked. But the baked beans, sausage and mushrooms drew me in to order this at Street1 and I'm glad I did. The scrambled eggs had a slightly cheesy taste and despite the shiny look of the dish, it was cooked perfectly with a nice, creamy texture without the sliminess that comes with undercooked eggs. I was also happy to finally have scrambled eggs that tasted flavorful instead of like pieces of rubber so that's always a plus.
The mushrooms were probably my favorite side to this dish. I don't know what Street1 does differently but the mushrooms were salty and almost crispy and I kind of miss them already? The sausage was your average KnN deli kind (not that I'm complaining about that) and the Baked Beans presumably straight out of a Heinz can (again, I love that stuff). But the grilled tomato was a hard pass; the char was only on the very outside of the skin, leaving it raw and watery in the middle and just not very appealing at all.
Price: I believe somewhere around Rs. 575, but I will have to double check.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - 4/5 - I could probably go back for this again but miss me with that tomato please.
