People don't usually want to talk about the topics they consider to be taboo. That's exactly what makes them taboo and that's why we need to talk about them. Yes, I'm talking about bowel movements, poop, #2, having a go- go, etc.
A great indicator of our health is how regularly we go and the consistency of our go- go. When I was in college I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. I would be constipated for days and then I'd have to take medication which gave me terrible gut wrenching diarrhea.
The more I learned about food and what works for my body, the less I needed the medicine. Eventually the food became the medicine. I no longer have irritable bowel syndrome. Food heals.
The truth is that most people eat too many simple carbs & processed foods and not enough vegetables and greens. Our bodies weren't designed to process such a heavy load (pun intended) of heavily processed foods so our intestines respond in kind.
A simple way to start to do better by your body is to drink 2tsps of apple cider vinegar with a few shakes of ginger powder in 10 oz if water every morning. Then you can follow that with a green drink made of kale, spinach, broccoli (or any other green veggies) and add some pineapple to help sweeten it.
You'll find that it won't take very long before you're regular, feeling more alive from the inside out, and feeling more energized. And healthy eating has amazing benefits on our mental health as well.
Our bodies are approximately 75% what we consume (food & drink) and 25% what we do (exercise & movement).
When we take the time to take care of our bodies, it's good for the body, mind and spirit.
