What are the best exercises for glute growth?! Firstly, realize that everyone is different and what works for you may not work for someone else. Buuuut, some of my favs are:
SQUATS (heavy ones) - compound movements are amazing because they have the capability to work multiple muscle groups at once. Squats are my #1 favorite exercise for the glutes but a lot of people use the same weight week after week. I chose to include my last sets with my 1RM (185lbs today) because I train by pushing myself until almost failure. I also had to wait 40 min for a squat rack so my legs were shot.
RDL’s - any type is fine. You can use dumbbells, a barbell or a kettlebell. You can do both legs or single. I chose to do a unilateral DB RDL today. Try & include at least one unilateral movement per body part when you exercise!! You can hold onto something for stability like I do here.
Bulgarian split squats - I have such a love/hate relationship with these. Before I got serious into lifting, I used to do these a lot. Some cues I use are to focus digging through my heel and leaning forward a little more to feel it in my glutes. You can do these weighted or unweighted. Also if you have a hard time balancing, try them on the smith machine!
Hip thrusts (heavy) - like the squats, these are a compound movement so I prefer to go as heavy as I can. I find the easiest way to do them is on the smith machine but it’s all about personal preference. Make sure you SQUEEZE your glutes at the top and for extra torture hold the last rep for as long as possible.
I hope some of these types helped you guys!! If you have any questions, feel free to DM me! Leave me some of your fav glute exercises in the comments
