MATURE DANCER SERIES 40+ /CONTEMPORARY
We are SO excited with the positive response to this new class series coming in 2020! .
Join us for a series of classes designed especially with the mature dancer in mind. Intelligently structured and low impact, these classes are perfect for those who want to keep moving safely and enjoy Contemporary Dance at any age. The class is suitable for those with some injuries/limitations and is led by our qualified senior contemporary teacher, Lyndel Quick. The classes are perfect for those with some previous dance experience or those returning to contemporary after an extended break.
For those interested, this class may also lead to some further creative performance outcomes. Always optional.

Classes commence on 1st February and run for a 9 week block. $18 per class, term payment. .

Facilitator: Lyndel Quick
Lyndel is passionate about sharing the benefits of an embodied movement practice. She established The Loft over 15 years ago and encourages her students to be deeply present, to explore their innate movement capacity and to trust in themselves. Her classes incorporate a creative flow of movement sequences and emphasise strong anatomical foundations, energetic alignment and creating space in the body through release techniques. Lyndel has an extensive background in dance, training professionally in contemporary dance technique and movement improvisation. She is the lead trainer and course director for The Loft 50hr Barre Teacher Training program. Lyndel completed the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching (350 hours) and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Teaching from Deakin University, majoring in Dance, and Education. She is currently completing a 12 week Smart Body, Smart Mind course with Irene Lyon, focussing on nervous system regulation, trauma, feldenkrais and somatic experiencing. Lyndel believes in the natural intelligence of the human body and movement as a tool for transformation. She teaches with humour, dedication and love.
