Lest We Forget....
- those who fought for our freedom
- those who died for our rights
- those who lost their family members in the war
- those who still go to battle for all of us
- those with selfless souls standing up for the causes of humans
- those who keep handing down the important memories to each generation that has come after
I will never forget my grandpa Smith who fought in WWll and who survived to bring home freedom. He continued throughout the rest of his life to honor and support our troops past and present.
He was the main father figure in my life growing up and exemplified honor, trust, loyalty, gratitude, cherished life and loved it fully.
From making me finger toast to his beautiful garden, from our times hunting and fishing, to singing and thumping the roof to the music in the car. From his warm hugs, gentle smile, yet badass streak - yes, 40s pinup girl tattoo and surviving tank blowup. From his patience, love and support for his children and wife to his effortless love, lessons and inspiration to his grandchildren. His messages telling me how proud and loved I am and wishing the best for the year ahead. I can go on, I so can but my point is he embodied selflessness and greatness in my eyes and is my soul inspiration of what a fighter, man, friend, HUMAN is. Many attributes of those who serve for their countries.
Let’s not waste their fighting for our freedoms on not being the amazing, purposeful, special humans we are! We have this life to live to our fullest so let’s show those who’ve fought for us how much we honor them by making this world and everyone you come in contact with better! Let’s not squander the freedoms we’ve been gifted, let’s do better shall we!
So Lest We Forget how hard fought our freedoms are and always pay homage to those responsible for it, past, present and always. #lestweforget #respect #neverforgotten #alwayscherished
