Watched a truly heartbreaking #documentary on #skinbleaching back home in the motherland again tonight ( showed my friends Ethiopian born friend and he actually had no idea this actually happens in africa) and thought of this beautiful post and quote by these gorgeous ladies and just had to share. Excuse me ladies but I love your message . I love the skin i was born in. I can't say its been easy or is easy and always will be but i wouldn't change it for the world. I truly could not have asked for a better home . “Black girl, black girl you’re beautiful,
even though the negative opinions of you are plentiful. Black girl, black girl you’re strong
even though they make you feel wrong.
Black girl, black girl your bold
even though a different story is told.
Black girl, black girl wear that crown
even when the world makes you want to frown.
Black girl, black girl stand tall
Even when the struggle takes your all”
Friday, August 17th I attended a Leadership training for councillors in Port Loko City/District. Aimed at giving leaders new skills — at helping them change their behaviors to go from being a top individual contributor to a leader of people. After the session I concluded that as a leader, your success is dependent on the success of the people you're leading.
Looking forward to creating inpact in Ward 234
