Happy Wellness Wednesday.
"Run at once to meet her and say to her, 'Is all well with you? Is all well with your husband? Is all well with the child?' And she answered, 'All is well.'" (2 Kings 4:26, ESV)
I stumbled upon this story while looking for the scripture that says "all is well." All was definitely not well with this woman (her son had just died), but she was well in God's love and faithfulness. This is what is most important in our daily lives. We all have our struggles, we all have our bad days, and we are all different. But God loves each and every one of us, and is with us during our good and bad days, our ups and downs, in dark and bright times. He is the only true constant. ☀️
Some days, Jackson just wants to be held or be in my lap. I love those days, most of the time. And on the days I find myself struggling with the need to love on him, and the need to "do all the things," I remind myself that he's only little for a little while. And he may just need his safe space, which is me. I'm trying to show him God's love, so that God can be his safe space as he grows, but in the meantime, I'll gladly carry him and snuggle him. ❤️ So, he got strapped to my back while I made him breakfast yesterday. And we both loved it. While some people will look at this and judge, thinking Jackson should be okay playing alone while I cook, other people will look and understand that sometimes babies just need their mommas. And their mommas need them. And in this moment, all was well, for both of us. ☀️
Think about that, next time you want to criticize someone for doing something differently than you. If that difference (whether it be diet or formula feeding or school choice or career path) keeps them "well," then that's all that matters. God loves us all equally, and told us to do the same. ☀️
Side note about the baby carrier. I don't like it, especially for the back carry. 😂 What wraps/carriers are good for the back carry for toddlers?? Does anyone have that carrier that has the fanny pack type seat??
