💥IS PEER PRESSURE GETTING IN THE WAY OF YOUR TRAINING💥
Do you ever find that you are always being put under constant pressure by your co-workers who aren't into fitness?
You get dirty comments about not having the brownie your admin staff made, or skipping a chance to go out for a beer with your friends so you can get a workout in, or going home early from a function because you wanna hit that cardio class at 5am
You find that there are days you have to isolate yourself to protect yourself.
You find it difficult to connect with your co workers because they live unhealthy lifestyles and are always spending their free time drinking or eating crap. You can’t go into work on a Monday and talk about the Tricep workout you just killed because they will look at you like you have three heads.
As a result of this constant pressure you find yourself asking, “maybe I am taking this a little too seriously, or maybe I should just get that pizza, or come on what’s one brownie gonna do”
You end up doubting yourself and the decisions you make because Joe Soap who hasn’t exercised a day in his life thinks that having one brownie isn’t going to do anything 🤔.
You end up being too embarrassed to make your own choices because you would rather save the barrage of looks and comments that come with the choices you make
This is exactly what has happened to me in the past. Here are a few methods I learnt to deal with it
1️⃣ Say no like you mean it!! Stay firm with your decisions
2️⃣ Plan your response
3️⃣ Avoid places and situations that make you feel uncomfortable
4️⃣Choose positive friends and friends that are on the same mission as you
5️⃣Never doubt yourself!!
Nowadays fitness is being seen in a more positive light and slowly more and more people are realizing its importance. So the next time someone pressurizes you into thinking what you are doing is useless or a waste of your time and happiness, ask them what are they doing to improve their health??
