For the first time since Maynard was bitten twice by a rattlesnake last Sunday, the vets taking care of him finally said the words we've been waiting to hear.... "Maynard will survive this!" We are so happy to share with you that since receiving a third round of antivenom two nights ago, Maynard is finally beginning to show improvement. He was able to put pressure on his leg last night and the necrosis and swelling finally seem to be contained. While neither have disappeared completely, they are no longer spreading. He finally ate a very small amount of chicken and rice last night and as far as know, it didn't come right back up. He did have to stay again overnight because there is still a risk to his kidneys and liver. But depending on how he did overnight and today, he may finally be able to return home!
Thank you again to everyone who has donated to his care. His family is facing a very steep vet bill that is near $10,000 now. Even with this good news that Maynard will survive, the financial burden this has created remains looming over his parents' head. If you find it in your heart to donate even $1.00 to help pay for his care, we would be eternally grateful. The love and support you've shown Wyatt's Uncle is beyond what we could have ever hoped or dreamed of. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
