It’s not your fault if you’re a Negative Nelly🤔.
When people tend to respond to challenges with “I can’t” it may well be underpinned by a belief that it’s better not to try than to fail and get hurt. .
If you grew up with a negative inner voice, did you learn from watching your parents and adopting their negative beliefs & cautious behaviour?.
Or perhaps unpleasant experiences in early life led you to value SELF PROTECTION over exploration and challenge. .
It makes sense- after all rejection, failure, loss, abandonment, all of these things can really hurt. And if we truly BELIEVE any of them will be the result of our endeavours, if we lack hope that things can go well for us, well, why would we try scary new things?. .
CONFIDENT, POSITIVE ADULTS were often rewarded as children for trying new things, so they learned to keep doing them. .
They look on the bright side because they experienced things repeatedly working out well. That, or they’ve worked hard as adults to overcome their fears. ———————————————————— .
🤔Are you where you want to be in life?
🤔Does a lack of self belief hold you back?.
🤔 Is it time to challenge the programming of your childhood or challenge your idea of the future?.
BEGIN SMALL - search for tiny glimmers of hope in rubbish situations. Or start to question your inner critic. .
INSTEAD OF “I definitely can’t do that” what about “Am I sure I can’t” and one day it might be “ things are always working out for me 😄”
If our mind goes from 100% negative to only 99% negative - that’s a significant change of attitude. Right? YASSSS!! Anything better than nothing is progress. .
