"Forests will always hold your secrets, for that’s what forests are for. To separate and hide things. To protect, to comfort, to hold, to envelop, to demonstrate, to slow down, to teach. Go to the trees to explore your questions and dreams. Go to the trees to desire and seek. The world will listen as you walk, watch, soften and breath."
Some years ago, when I was in college and depressed, I used to sit under a tree or lay on the grass and talk to myself like no body is listening. I talked and talked and had one-way conversations, imagining how certain scenarios would have been different if I said what I wanted to say.
Now, only the trees and the grass know my secrets. They've listened to me as I unloaded my mind, without me knowing. They've made me feel better without me realizing.
Curious fact: The color green is believed to have certain calming effects. They say that when you're feeling anxious, you can look at something green as it helps concentration and relaxation. The waiting area for most TV shows is called "green room" (as it was actually green before) so guests can relax.
