We are excited to announce Trisha Vyse as one of our local Problem Solvers winners!
Trisha is a wife and mother of three that resides in the city of Spruce Grove, Alberta. Having a youth daughter struggling with mental illness, severe drug addiction, and homelessness has compelled Trisha to become involved in various community initiatives offering her experience in hopes to advocate for systematic change. An ongoing project for the past five years has been Trisha’s role as a volunteer and now Vice President of “Tri-Region Pay Forward Kindness Society.” They offer on going barrier free, relief services for the vulnerable population, while their main objective is to connect on a deeper level to help understand their current barriers, with a non judgmental approach, offering a warm hand off to additional support while maintaining connection. During the warmer months they facilitate a weekly outdoor picnic for some of their local unsheltered residents. They eat together as equal members of society, and more importantly as friends. Fostering these connections, offering support with essential items creates a desire for change within their special “friends” many successes along the way. Trisha’s hope is to continue lifting others and inspiring change.
