Ray of Hope: Marichyasana (dedicated to Sage Marichi or rubber man if you ask me) on day 2 of pulling your socks back to yoga is a bit ambitious.
Advanced postures are possible with
1. the readiness to try them,
2. the patience to prepare with easier asanas and
3. Not give up in between
I began today's session with baddha konasana (butterfly - my fav), uttanasana (forward bend - still possible hurray!), janushirasana (head to knee - possible but not glamorous yet!), virasana (hero - yippiee!), supta virasana (reclining hero - not happening, heroes don't sleep.. duh!) & supta padungusthasana (reclining hand to toe - that was alright). Now the spine was all warmed up and ready to stretch further more and closer to the rubber man's unique fix or Marichyasana (1,2&3). I know it is a long journey and all the sweat beads on my forehead were not totally workout after effects. It was also anxiety. Where did the previous body get lost. Each stubborn muscle is yelling out just this. I have a long way to go Mr Marichi, please don't laugh or turn in your grave. I am inspired by your perfectly stretchable postures. I mean it! I am on it!
Sukhasana (easy). Love
PS: Chin mudra in the picture, helps create more receptive state, calms the mind and brightens overall mood. The mudra was a part of virasana and sukhasana today.
