"This hur' gives me the damn creeps," Slick says, looking
around. Ben laughs as he turns on the Packard car radio.
"Imagine tha' ole' hay-haired, all cocky and shit-scared like
a little girl." Slick pays his older half brother no mind, eyes darting
all around the darkness outside the Packard.
The brothers are in Mississippi spending the night out
in Dark Horse Farm. Owned by one of the few native
American families left in Ole. Miss, Gary Oleta and
his seven brothers inherited land from his grand father
along the Pearl River. Land spanning some 2,000 acres,
Dark horse Farm is the crown jewel in The Oleta
family, land now being targeted by racist greedy
Utilizing such evil tactics like poisoning farm animals,
setting fires to crops, poisoning ponds and streams,
Gary Oleta is at his wits end, almost ready to leave the
land to the greedy villains.
That is until the Blood Brothers were told of his plight
while in South Carolina. High tailing it to
The Magnolia State, Ben and Slick were greeted with
warm relieved smiles and gratitude. It seemed the man's
reputations had preceded them. While given a tour
of what is left of the pristine farm, land so beautiful
and scenic, Ben and Slick were humbled, the
resourceful blonde scoundrel had an idea. Since
much of the harassment done to the family always
happens under the guise of darkness, Slick and Ben
offered to spend the night along Buford Bend,
south of the Oleta's farmhouse. The boys plan on
catching somebody red-handed, maybe even
killing them. But there is a catch, a tale told to the
men over dinner. Dark horse Farm is haunted as well
as the land. "Its all bullshit....," Slick snickers.
Just as the words leave his lips, the blonde thug's
eyes open wide, not believing what he is seeing.
Ben sees his brother's reaction, turning with a grin,
one of which instantly melts away. "Dear lord,....," the Creole gasps. "
