“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives...the Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena....The Earth is the only world known so far to harbour life. There is nowhere else, at least not in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.” >Carl Sagan, inspired by ‘The Pale Blue Dot of Earth’, a photo of earth taken from space by Voyager 1 in 1990 from 6 billion km away.
My pic here is of a beautiful art installation called ‘Earth’ at Blue Dot by Luke Jerram. Suspended from the tree tops and cleverly giving festival goers a bit of an astronauts perspective of our planet. It’s quite a wonderful thing, we should probably take a better care of it.
What an amazing, thought provoking, festival weekend. Thank you @bluedotfestival
