The contents you share with your audience or followers should be valuable to them, like why should they listen to you? Why should they share your posts with their followers? Because social media is about the people, if you provide for them, they will provide for you.
Network with your audience, be opened to connecting with people, its not only automated posts that will grow your brand, but human connection. Collaborate with people, even your competitors.
Be real people! Be very real and be transparent. Don't pretend to be who you are not and I literally mean don't be trying to use the tone or method other brands are using, do what works for you. If you feel like posting a picture of you with your dog, do so genuinely and not trying to fake the lifestyle or copy others. Be you for you and your audience will love you for you. Trust me, not everyone will like you and what you do or post, so just do you and let the real ones love you.
Engage your target audience and customers, communicate with them, listen to them. It shouldn't be about selling your products or services all the time. Interact with people, comment on their posts - if possible, set one or 2 days a week for commenting and engaging with them without you posting.
-- And remember trying out this tips without having a website to direct your audience to is more like a waste of time and effort. And if your current website isn't the same look or feel with your social media posts, then people wouldn't trust you or your brand. e.g red logo, yellow for social media and pink for your website. You need to ask yourself, what message am I passing across and if I were to be the audience or target customer will I trust that brand?
