After a morning of errands I came home, sat down & thought... Iโ€™m up and down these stairs all the time.. I gotta be able to do something with them. Sooooo to #pinterest I went for some ideas! So this is what I came up with! The jump squats got me at first.. slipped and face planted on my second step haha! So disclaimer (wear sneakers or go barefoot. Socks are a No Go) also I have 14 steps! When I got to the bottom I I probably did about a 20-30 second break before starting the next set! Far as I can tell.. this works everything youโ€™d do on #legday and also #coreworkout ,keep it held in during as much of it as you can, youโ€™ll feel the burn!

After an incident that happened to one of my clients this weekend I wanted to make a quick post about what we consider progress and what we see as inspiration. We blame magazines and the media for pushing an ideal but how many times have you looked at a child or teenager and had the thought pop into your head โ€œman that kids overweightโ€. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ You might not publicize it or you just might be the douchebag who thinks itโ€™s ok to comment on a teen/childโ€™s weight. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ Itโ€™s ok to admit that part of the problem IS US. I canโ€™t tell you how many times I had a friend or family member tell me at the age of 14 that I was already overweight. Itโ€™s something that till this day can sneak up on me every so often. If I could go back - I would tell myself to be happy with my body no matter what stage itโ€™s in. I know thatโ€™s easier said than done, but I wish someone had told me that it was ok. I wish I had had a better self-image. I wish I had been more positive and nicer to myself. I wish I had done research and realized that back then I didnโ€™t need to workout 3x a day or take fat burners or drink a gallon of something to make me burn calories fast. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Donโ€™t wait till you lose weight to start living your life! I promise you that losing weight wonโ€™t automatically make you love yourself. It wonโ€™t make your problems go away. It wonโ€™t make people love you more. When I was at my smallest/lightest the comments were oh she has no butt or muscles, when I was in my between - oh she still has weight to lose, at my highest - how can she be a trainer, sheโ€™s fat? You will never SATISFY the world - so donโ€™t try to. Learn to love yourself. Didnโ€™t feel like working out at all today!! Whenever I donโ€™t feel like exercising, legs are my go-to because you can get a good #sweat and burn lots of #calories easily. I know I need to #exercise consistently to get back to where I was. Itโ€™s so frustrating thinking of what I โ€œused to doโ€ and then realizing what I can do now and how much #strength I lost but Iโ€™m working on being #grateful for the things my body CAN do now.
Set 1:
20 Banded Good Mornings
20 Banded Sumo Squats
Banded Side Walks (at least 20 each side)
Set 2:
Alternating Walking Lunges with Squeeze - at least 20 each side ( it doesnโ€™t matter how high you kick your leg- it matters how hard you squeeze your glutes)

Set 3:
Bulgarian Split Squat + Touchdown 10 each leg (Laundry basket works great for this because you shouldnโ€™t have any weight on your back leg and it doesnโ€™t need to be too high - just off the ground to force the weight to your working leg. Also, donโ€™t lunge so far apart....youโ€™ll feel your booty much more with a close stance but be careful itโ€™s far enough not to overload your front knee). I did 5 rounds of this - by the third round, I dropped reps to where I could feel the burn but stay controlled and balanced.

Apartment needs to be cleaned, laundry needs to be done, errands & packing for our vacation on Friday still needs to happen, hair, nails, WORK on top of that. (thankfully im my own boss ๐Ÿ˜) Oh & being a mama to this crazy gal. Week โœŒ๏ธ day โ˜๏ธdone! Chest and tris. I didnโ€™t want to do this this morning. I was going to wait until after work. My anxiety is at an all time high today. Iโ€™m going on vacation at the end of the week and plans arenโ€™t falling apart. I have to take the final for my summer class before I leave and I havenโ€™t taken a college final in 17 years. But I knew if I pushed off the workout until later, Iโ€™d keep finding excuses and it would never get done. 1. I used to be so embarrassed by arms... they were big and Iโ€™m pretty sure they had cellulite. I was embarrassed to wear tank tops in the summer because I was disgusted by them. > We are seriously are own WORST critics
2. The thought of lifting weights used to scare me. I didnโ€™t want to be bulky.
3. NOWโ€” I am SUPER proud of my arms and am in love with weights & know that my trainer is leading me to a lean and sculpted body!

But I love being able to workout at home in the basement. No one staring or looking over. Not worrying about if I make weird faces or sounds. I canโ€™t (or donโ€™t feel comfortable) doing my preworkout dances. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜… So the solution is to just completely finish my basement to make it look like this gym. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป
