What do you do when something completely out of your control derails your plans?
Do you throw in the towel? 😫
Or do you accept that life happens, and you put on your big girl pants and move on? 😀
I chose the later 🙌
I mentioned last week that we had a scare with Baby J (suspected brain tumour) that landed her at McMaster children's hospital for a few days. Once released, she developed a gastro bug (three days of puking fun!), followed by crazy high fevers that resulted in a febrile seizure Monday. Another hospital visit, another admission, and more follow-up to come (UTI/kidney infection)... What happened to my workouts and runs? 🙄
They DIDN'T happen is what happened 🤷♀️. Between January 1st and January 14th, I managed ONE run, and I'm behind two days in my new program 🏃♀️ .
I set some HUGE goals for myself for 2019, and the break in training REALLY hurt, but LIFE happened. 🤷♀️ So guess what peeps?
Yesterday after getting home from the hospital, I had a much needed nap, and relaxed with my kids. Later that night, I sat down with a cup of tea, and I RE-WORKED my training plan ... When health and fitness become part of your LIFESTYLE, set-backs are just that ... SET-BACKS. Because your LIFESTYLE will always be there 🙂
