Hello mommies, daddies and my baby friends.
As soon as we are 6 months old our parents start freaking out on what should they give us to eat and what not. We on the other hand are super excited at this stage to explore the whole new world of flavours, textures and what not. All we want is to know how food will feel in our mouth n tummy. Today's post is about how I made my own healthy, baby food at home also called as home made cerelac or satthu maavu.
So let's get started.. Ingredients-
2 cups wheat or wheat grits i.e. daliya.
1 cup rice.
1 cup green gram.
1 cup red gram.
1/2 cup almonds.
1/2 cup cashews.
1/4 cup walnuts (optional).
15-20 strands of saffron (optional)
We will also need a strainer, a clean cotton sheet, a pan and spatula and a grinder.
Step-1 Collect all the ingredients in the given quantity.
Step-2 Soak wheat, rice, green gram and red gram in separate bowls for 2 hours.
Step-3 Strain all the water from the soaked ingredients.. Step-4 Spread them on a sheet and let them dry separately.
Step-5 Once the soaked ingredients r completely dry roast them in a pan. Also roast the almonds, cashews and walnuts.
Step-6 Grind wheat, rice, green gram and red gram into a fine powder and separately grind all the drugs fruits and saffron.
Step-7 Now in a bowl or in the grinder mix all the finely ground ingredients well and store the mix in an air tight container.
Ta-daaa and u r done.
U may also add other ingredients as per your choice. Make your own satthu maavu and share with me in the comment box how much u liked it.
