It's no secret that The Bahamas has astoundingly clear blue waters. Waters so clear that it was one of the only locations that allowed enough light to shoot the underwater scenes in the movie 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea in 1915.
After seeing the original black and white version of the film, Harry Hoffman was so inspired by the scenes, that it led him to him to create his own underwater seascape entitled Parrot Fish in 1916.
