One of the biggest unknowns and exciting comebacks this season is Gordon Hayward. Dont get me wrong, Kawhi and Cousins returning is certainly going to shake up the east and the west, but neither are as exciting as an often overlooked Hayward
While he's only played around 5 minutes as a Celtic, his phenomenal final year in Utah cant be ignored.
The biggest question mark? The team embarked on its successful 2017-18 campaign without him.
Kyrie will have to once again adjust to sharing the ball with another player accustomed to being the first option on offense. It was Hayward’s absence that allowed young players like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier to develop into the potential stars they appeared to be during the playoffs.
Hayward averaged 21.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in his final season with the Jazz and is an underrated defender
Do I see Hayward causing issues? Potentially a few teething issues early on, but adding Hayward to the mix should especially help an offense that was often overly reliant on Irving. Yes, Hayward’s presence will mean shuffling around starting lineups, but means their bench production should increase as players previously relied upon to start are now coming off the bench
