Final deads of this block and we hit a new all time PB - 235kg and only went and doubled it! So glad I got this. Nice warm embrace from coach at the end too ♥️ Deadlifts finally starting to catch up to my squat, may even surpass my squat soon like a normal human! Then some uninteresting pin press with 135kg.
What we have here is a rare sighting of a Josh actually deadlifting.. 😂
Neglected this lift for the last few years because I hated it. I hated it because I was weak at it, I was weak at it because I didn't do it. Catch 22. Now we are putting in the work to rectify this, finally!
215kg for 3, which is actually the heaviest I've ever pulled conventional! 🙌 Back off sets with 190kg and broke my @maximuscle straps, which I've had since I was 16! 😢
The equipment, the fact chalk is encouraged not banned and the general vibe just made for some really good training sessions.
Picked up 110 for the first time in four months after repping 105 but my CNS kindly told me to fuck off after that so I failed 115. It's been good testing the waters to see how much, if any, strength I've lost.
W1D1 of the new block. Easy squats last night. Even though they were easy there's always improvements to be made. One of the many benefits of training with the boys in @bangor_barbell_est2014 who noticed my valgus knee on the first set so we moved my stance in slightly and things just flew from there! 🙌🙌 Looking forward to where this squat goes over the next eight weeks! Pleased with today! Back at thr home gym @bangor_barbell_est2014 Squats worked up to what was supposed to be 4x3 at RPE9. Worked up to 190 initially but it ended up beinf an RPE 8-8.5. 195kg was right on the button but looking at the video it seems to ve more like 8.5. Deadlifts 4x3 RPE8. Ended up on 215kg RPE8.
When you fail your first rep and @mr_benchpress_ goads you into trying again! 🎣🎣 I took the bait this time. Wanted two but couldn't lock it out. Should have managed to lock both failed attempts out really. I'll take that 5kg PB today, but I'm not happy. 😂😂 @bangorbarbell @harry_owen95
When you load what you think is 200kg and do a tough double and @mr_benchpress_ says "is that 210kg?" Ooops, guess that will be another #PB this week! Squats feeling really good lately pb'ing all over the shop! Finished with 165kg for some simple sixes. @bangorbarbell @satsumo_steve @harry_owen95
*PB ALERT* 200kg dubs with one in the tank. Yay, only ever hit that for a single. Also some sexy sixes with 162.5kg which felt good. Easy bench single at 120kg as well. Summer is feeling good.
