[Day 6 of 30] Last night I slept late, but this morning I woke up early, because I was really looking forward to heading to the gym. Today (in terms of macros) was especially amazing, because I was able to fit in some Korean BBQ Short Ribs! 🤤 I’m finally starting to feel comfortable going to the gym again (felt a little self conscious before since I was starting all over again). Before, I used to feel like everyone was staring at me because I hadn’t been to the gym for sometime, but now I feel like I’m just “one of the guys”. It feels great to not be so self conscious. Im excited to hit the gym again tomorrow ☺️

That is, under the freeway then up the frontage road, then over the freeway, and down the other frontage road. About 1.8 miles (3k)
Finished just over 20 minutes. I was less than 400m into this, and I was hating myself, then I remembered all my friends who were fortunate(?) enough to be in Big Bear this weekend running the #Spartan, so I quit my bitching and manned up. Still walked some, but ran hard in between.

SAFETY BAR SQUATS/LUNGES •







This squat/lunge variation is essentially a safety-bar squat with your hands holding onto a on the rack . This movement can only be done with the use of a safety-squat bar because it can balance on your back and leave your hands free for additional support.
✅ With the use of your hands, you can push through your weakest position in the squat. Also, the increased support allows you to control the eccentric (lowering) portion of the lift, which assists in taking pressure off your low back.
✅ It's a good way to build competency with higher loads, making it a fantastic strength and muscle building exercise as well as a teaching tool.

4️⃣DB Seated Hammer Curl. The partial rep pulling from the floor is killer! Will light your 💪🏽 ups 🔥

5️⃣DB Close Grip Press to Tricep Ext. Keep your elbows in on the press and keep them over your shoulders on the Ext. Make sure to get the Elbow fully locked out.

6️⃣KB 1-Arm Clean to Push Jerk. The 88lb Kettlebell got heavy. I originally meant for it to be somewhat of a strict press. Ended up being a Push jerk 🤷🏻‍♂️
