A few weeks ago my father and I made a trip to the coast of Normandy. Normandy, nowadays a beautiful coast with cosy cities and cider farms everywhere, used to be the D-front in 1945. A battlefield where many soldiers gave their lifes for their country. My father and I visited a lot of museums and made a few stops at the coast.
When you're in Normandy, you HAVE to visit the Calvados region and the ciderfarms. Our stop at Christan Drouin is what I remember the most. When we arrived we where greeted welcome immediatly. We got a small tour, which had just started, so we could see everything. After a very interesting explanation about the region, the history of the house and the production of Calvados, Cider and Pommoaue, we where offered a small tasting of different drinks of their own. That way I could taste all different sorts of Calvados, but also the new gin of Christian Drouin. Brefely, it was a beautiful experience and absolutely recommendable!
Tomorrow more about the sorts of Calvados I tasted.
