Who’s ready for another snow storm this weekend? From a photographers vantage I welcome the conditions as it provides a new element to photograph in.
A Hermit Thrush, photographed while snow fell through central Iowa along the Des Moines River along the border of Ledges State Park. These migratory song birds are seen normally in the fall, but for some reason this one had stuck around longer than expected. With fresh snowfall this Hermit Thrush was easier to spot, where normally they would not have been so easy. With the brown color we’d otherwise see without snow covered landscapes of winter their brown colored feathers would easily blend in more.
