Week 5 legs ✅. Damn I hate burpees soooo much 😂. I just have to focus on the fact that when I first started working out I couldn’t do one and today I did 30 🙌🏻. .

Remember that you can modify exercises and still get a great workout in. Today my knees were bothering me so I limited he jumping and substituted extra squats or lunges instead. I still worked up a sweat! 😅

Dear ladies, in dire need of your help again. This Friday I am finishing the incredible stretch of my post-grad exams (I decided to finish my post-grad in two instead of three semesters, why so much absence and sporadic posting as well as obvious stress on this page...)... And I am looking for ways to detox my body from a massive amount of adrenaline, coffee and sugar I have consumed (despite eating mostly clean I did consume too much sugar wanting quick energy fixes... 🇬🇧PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD🇪🇸
It means continually increasing the demands on the musculoskeletal system to continually make gains in *muscle size*, strength, and endurance. Simply put, in order to get bigger and stronger, you must continually make your muscles work harder than they're used to.
-If the demands on the muscle are not maintained or are actually decreased, your muscles will atrophy, losing size and strength.
-Say you perform 8 reps of deadlift with 75lb/35kg. Over time, you'll get stronger, and your legs/booty will get bigger as a result. Completing 8 is no longer challenging. If you continue performing that set of 75lb/35kg for 8 reps, don't expect any further gains. There's no reason for your legs/booty to grow larger or stronger; they're already capable of handling the overload. However, your legs/booty will become bigger and stronger if you place even greater demands on them.
(So no, doing 20 minutes bodyweight glutes exercises at home are not gonna make your 🍑 grow)
(There’s a reason why ALL girls with big bums go to the gym 🙃)

Push ups - I’m getting ok at them, but I can’t go very low. Does anyone know whether it’s better to do normal push ups on my toes even though I don’t go that low yet but can do them, or to keep doing them on my knees and go as low as possible each time. Did a PWR workout for the first time and loved it! I think I figured out why I’ve been in such a slump... I can’t deal with doing the same type of workouts everyday/week. I need variety to stay committed. So I’m gonna do just that! I’m gonna keep switching things up and do what I FEEL like doing instead of what the guide might say that day. Sometimes I feel like yoga. When I workout at home during the day, my workouts are almost always interrupted! Hannah woke up half way through my workout today needing a diaper change. Bridget needed to use the toilet, and both of them needed attention at some point or another. It's not the type of workouts I would get if I was all alone, but that doesn't matter to me.

This week I started a new job, working over 40 hours a week. I spent my days running after 19 4-5 year olds. I was nervous that my new job would get in the way of my workouts. Not only time-wise but energy wise. I knew at the end of my workdays I would be completely drained. I love my field, I love working with children but I knew that my new job would leave me drained every night. This week I took two rest days, not because of my new job. But because of my mental health, I knew that I needed to just take a break or else I would burn out in the long run. In the end I am happy that I took those two rest days because I was still able to complete all my workouts for week 5, and for this reason I am still proud. All I can do is look forward to week 6, and get ready for the long week ahead of me. Bring it on week 6 💪🏻
