Just got in deload workout #2 whilst on vacation. Consuming only beer and goulash made it more difficult than planned. The vacation has also put some weight on me! Lol big weight cut coming! 4 months to Nationals! โ˜บ 227.5 kg for 3 sets of 3 on deadlifts, then a machine based back day followed. About a month ago one of my newer clients @hails_in_the_gym took on her first powerlifting competition at the @bcpowerliftingassociation @vancityshowdown - She showed some real tenacity and it was awesome seeing her excitement and approach to hitting the platform for the first time! Highlights:
โžก๏ธ Squat: Hailey crushed 105kg and set a good standard to move forward with!
โžก๏ธ Bench: 60kg flew for her on the day - Hailey also put up a hell of a fight on her third attempt and grinded out 65kg but unfortunately got called on a technicality (butt lift).
โžก๏ธ Deadlift: 127.5kg for a strong pull. She also moved 137.5kg super well on her 3rd attempt but got called for a technicality...we know that 300+ pull is coming soon in comp though...fuel for the fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Proud of this athlete and how she followed through with something she said she wanted to do...and she set some really solid bench marks for herself along the way! Watch out for her at some upcoming meets!

Being able-bodied and fortunate enough to enjoy physical activity is something I'm grateful for. However some kids face barriers to enjoy physical activities. GoodLife Spin4Kids is a one-day indoor fundraiser to support ongoing physical activity programs for kids with special needs.

For kids with special needs the path to getting active isn't always as simple as joining the local sports team or signing up for lessons around the corner. The grant program provides funding to support ongoing physical activity opportunities for children with special needs. Grants improve community access and help to remove some of the barriers preventing children from living active lives.
