So, here it is. "Sev batata poha" for breakfast. Sev is deep fried seasoned gram flour, batata is potato & poha is beaten rice. A yummy, healthy & a filling combination for breakfast is this beatan rice recipe. How did I made this? In a wide deep pan, pour Oil 2-3 tablespoons, add cumin & mustard about 1/2 teaspoon, let it crackle, add a few curry leaves or one single stick, add one sliced & chopped potato, let it fry. When done frying, add one big chopped & diced onion, 3 light green chilies, 3 tablespoons peanuts(optional)(i didn't really measure the quantity but, one need not put too much like using measuring cups), fry onion till translucent. Add in chopped tomato, turmeric and salt. Let it soften with the lid on pan. Add 2 teaspoon of sugar, juice of lime. Mix. Now add washed 1 & half cup of beaten rice/poha . Stir and mix. Garnish it with coriander leaves and sev.
