I NEVER got a pep talk. The day I told my mom I was getting married, she was like, "cool ," I don't think she believed me , Ha! I didn't have my earthly father around to give me away, tell me about the birds and the bees or bless our union.
I decided to write out what I would have told my scared, anxious, madly in love, younger self on my wedding day. Hope this will help somebody. I would have told her, you're so beautiful! Hold her head up. It's a blessing not a curse, marriage is honorable. God never intended for you to be sampled. He created you so wonderful, and now he wants to use you to help bless someone else's life. How cool is that!
Looking back, I had no clue, what a wife meant, but I knew it was special. I can shout on that term WIFE ... because many are called (wifey, wife, bae, booh, love), but few are actually chosen. Remember ladies, you might have to be the example. When all the world is excited over one night stands with their #MCM, tell yourself, many are called, but few are chosen. Fellas when you have multiple DM's, text and pic, trash all of it and say, I'm looking for my Queen. The world has gotten a lot worse since we tied the knot in "2004," you're probably wondering if there are any good ones left, yes God still got a few. Before you give in, remind yourself of who you are and how of a blessing you already are and will be to someone's life one day.
