BEESWAX . ONLY
There are so many reasons why I always choose natural, unrefined beeswax over nut tree derived sheabutter and cocoa butter or solvent-processed carnauba wax to sing in my compositions, and not all of them have to do with skincare.
Oh yes, hydrating, hypoallergenic, antiseptic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, Vitamin A loaded (think natural, wholesome hyaluronic acid, but not derived from rooster combs), Beeswax clears acne, regulates sebum, heals scars, fades stretchmarks, boosts collagen and locks in moisture. As with everything, the more natural, unrefined the beeswax, the more powerful it's potency. Unlike sheabutter, cocoa butter or coconut oil, beeswax contains no nut proteins (latex) that can aggravate the skin and trigger redness, acne, and contact dermatitis.
And yes again, Beeswax is not vegan. However, if we want to keep eating GMO free vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, roots and fruit, we must support every natural beekeeper there is, eat all the honey we can, use all the beeswax balms in the world and burn all the beeswax candles we can get our hands on. Because without bees, there is no pollination, without pollination no flowers, no flowers, no seeds, fruit, vegetables. No bees, no life. Not even a vegan one.
In saying this, it's the small, natural beekeepers we want, who care for the bees, let them draw their own hives, don't feed their colonies sugar and extract honey ethically. This pretty much excludes every single jar of supermarket honey. But hey, lucky there are places like @thehealthemporium or @iggysbread_downunder who sell organic and wildcrafted raw honey made by the good bee people.
