It’s a mystery. Saw this on the fence of the ramp that leads from the Westside Trail up to Lee St. yesterday. Bike handlebars and seat painted white and mounted on very nice stained wood and professionally mounted on the fence. It’s been confirmed that this is not #beltlineart. Thanks for the free art, whoever! #publicart #hookemhorns

@cretacat: “Would you take my senior pictures, Dad?”
Me: “I know just the place!”
Had a great morning along the #beltlineatl and got some great photos before heading to the Atlanta Pride Festival!
(Anyone know who painted this one? I’d like to credit the artist but couldn’t find a signature)

@philproctorsculpture took this shot of “The Guide” showing that the staff does indeed light up at night thanks to nearby solar panels. Awesome #beltlineart

@philproctorsculpture shared this great image showing that “The Guide”’s staff does indeed glow at night thanks to nearby solar panels. We love it even more now. On the Westside Trail near Washington Park. #beltlineart

And if Phil Proctor’s work isn’t enough to get you out onto the Westside Trail, check out the amazing Solidarity by D’Andre Brooks, a series of three sculptures on poles that can be found on the Stafford St. access point ramp just south of ML King Jr. Blvd. Inspiring, uplifting #beltlineart.

Back on the Westside Trail today where there are two new #beltlineart installations to share with you. First up, The Guide by longtime AoAB artist @philproctorsculpture. Phil’s other contributions to the largest outdoor public art exhibition in the southeast include the Iron Column on the Eastside Trail near the skatepark (2013) and the highly visible Solar Wind sculpture on the Northeast interim trail near Piedmont Park (2016). The Guide can be found on the east side of the trail at the Washington Park terminus. Stop by and see it in the evening if you can, because with a box nearby with solar panels on top we’re betting that long staff he’s carrying might just light up.
