Today's #weldershowcase goes out to our good friend @missywelds Check out her story here - "I got into welding because l bought a Honda Civic hatchback and it was completely rusted out. I bought myself a lincoln migpak 140 and started out with gasless fluxcored welding. Eventually switched to gas and realized the possibilities. I went to school for two years and learned the ins and outs. I learned the whys, hows, what to do, what not to do and so on. I worked in sanitary stainless for a couple of years doing custom fabrication, jig making, fork lift attachments, aluminum boats, automotive body repair technician, and eventually ended up doing Robotic weld cell programming and was a welding supervisor for a couple years. I never like to stay in one spot for long as there is so much to learn but now I am doing what I love - working for a growing great company.
I’ve been welding for about 10 years now and I love everything about it. I love fabrication and researching, I love welding, I love programming and I love learning about the new technology that is constantly growing and changing our industry.
I dirt bike in my off time, love to fish, and relax on the back lakes in Canada born raised and where I’ve spent most of my days My future plans are a secret as they are in the making and I can not discuss details specifically but... I hope to start my own welding business in my home town and start welding apprentices at a decent wage of $19/hr." Thank you for sharing your story with us. We hope your reach your goals and look forward to seeing you progress. If you've got a story to tell and would like to be featured on our page or would like to nominate someone, give us a DM!
