Well, I’ve officially moved to Washington DC... Choosing to take a job in DC rather than ones in LA and the Bay Area is actually one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. I think this is the case because I know I would have been extremely comfortable living in California. At the beginning of senior year, I thought I would’ve been enthused to get a job on the east coast, whether in DC or New York.
However, the closer the day that I would have to move to the other side of the country came, the more I began to understand just how grateful I was for California – for the gorgeous sunshine, the rolling hills, the picturesque beaches, the majestic redwoods, my friends, and my family... Ultimately, I chose to come to DC in spite of all this because I wanted to put myself outside of my comfort zone. Now that I’m here, I’m just hoping to learn something every day, to be situated in the heart of the engine that runs this country - knowing, nonetheless, that its power is derived from its people. I’m excited for what my time here holds. Thanks for everyone that supported this move and has been there for me through it.
California will always be home; here’s to this new chapter. I guess how it will be written is up to me.
