Monday: "Conformity to a sick society is to be sick'
In this modern world, there isn't a shortage of people trying to be someone else or just other people attempting to make you into what they want you to be. Isn't it such an irony that we are often told that we could be anything but yet, we couldn't be.
Be it the fear of missing out, status quo, or social pressures; all the above could ultimately make it hard to figure who you actually are. Subconsciously following the crowd, be mediocrely 'normal' and always holding on dearly to fit in or to be perfect.
However, trying to fit in would often cause you to lose a bit of yourself. If you push yourself too far, the result might be undoable. I know many of us are adults, and we have obligations and goals, but you do not have to take it too far to be yourself.
I always believe that your authenticity is truly your greatest gift and perhaps, greatest happiness. Thus, fitting in a box that is not yours does not grant the happiness you are seeking.
At the time of writing this, I've realized that I had always liked people who are brave with their vulnerability, people whose eyes tell stories and smiles who had fought through tough times which they might not have spoken about. Perhaps, I'm just a strange person who likes people who are rough on the edges because they remind me of myself — always not wanting to fit in the box that others had made for me.
