This is me for sure on the weekend. I told my hubby that he needs to remind me of my goals come Saturday!! He says he's dropping me off at the gym when they go out to eat 😂😂😂. For those who don’t know me I am a mom of two, a five year old and a three year old, born and raised Jersey girl. I have struggled with my weight all my life. I did stay active with cheerleading and softball but it wasn’t enough to keep me in shape. I ate junk food on the regular, once I was of age I would not hesitate to drink, did not get good sleep and just didn’t care enough to change my ways. I wasn’t happy but I didn’t push myself to be better. Finally I realized one day that I was getting out of control. The picture on the left is me at the age of 21 and weighed about 165ish possibly a little more. I was miserable because shopping for clothes was rough, I was always so drained, insecure with how I looked, and the list goes on. I finally did lose weight but not the right way. I would starve myself at times, or diet for a week then indulge for two, never worked out just expected results to happen instantly just because I ate a salad. Starting with Herbalife has kept me on a more balanced diet, I have more energy than I did in my younger years and my body overall from inside and out feels amazing. I am working towards a better me, mind, body and soul. Interested in how to get started DM 📱 me for more information! Problem areas- we all have them. Sadly everyone has a part of their body that they don’t like. For me that’s my stomach. I will cover it up at all cost.
The past few weeks my nutrition has been okay, but I know it can be better. THIS WEEK I am going to make it great. My goal is to stay ON POINT Monday- Friday. This weekend I am going out of town so my goal is to be proud of my choices and to not over do it!

Where my hungry girls at?!

No but really - that’s how I’ve gone through A LOT of my life. I was hangry before hangry was a thing. Who’s with me?! 🙋🏽‍♀️

By age 14 I was a major calorie counter. I had a gym membership and busted my butt there every night like there was no tomorrow.
.
By age 20 I was experimenting with all of the fads. Slimfast. Atkins (which was pretty much today’s Keto). South Beach Diet. Weight Watchers (which was effective but lead to a cycle of point hoarding and binge eating). Each time so hopeful....😔
.
By 28 I’d done Jenny Craig, several rounds of Master Cleanse (where you live off of lemonade and cayenne pepper for 10+ days), B12 injections, hunger reducing pills, and a plethora of other get skinny quick methods.
.
At my thinnest stage of life I was addicted to spin class and lean cuisines. Eating maybe 800 calories a day. And LIVING off of coffee by day, and a social scene filled with boozy nights.
.
I’ve TRIED dieting. I’m OVER dieting. It may work for some, but none of these methods were sustainable for me. ALL of these methods made me unhappy and feeling shackled to my desperation to be slim.
.
What IS working for me is eating a well balanced diet, not cutting food groups (because for me deprivation leads to an eventual binge fest...), and exercising regularly for at least 25 minutes a day.....seriously. It’s that easy. It’s so simple it SOUNDS like a gimmick....but it’s really just doing the things physicians have been telling us to do for DECADES. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I wonder what life would have looked like if my 14, 20, or 28 year old self knew it was all this simple?
.
I’m working with a group of fellow HUNGRY GIRLS on getting in gear before the New Year, so we can STOP dieting and START LIVING!

While reading personal development this morning which I do to help guide me towards my goals, dreams, positivity, new skills, personal growth etc.... this really caught my attention this morning and helped remind me to stay the course with a few different areas of my life. ⁣

Defeated doesn’t have to mean you necessarily lost at anything specific like a goal, new job or position or bid for a home etc... you could simply feel defeated from stress or life’s circumstances, exhaustion and curveballs etc... ⁣

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've been in a mega #slump. I feel like my limit is being broken more and more. As adorable as this picture is, this was over an hour past bed time. Trying to herd my kid to bed and I kept getting stragglers. This one is hardest to get to bed. She doesn't need to be up for school very early. So she's my last priority to get to bed. But then she sleeps in. Its a double edged #sword. She needs to wake up with the rest of us, so she can get to #sleep earlier. Its just soooo hard to get everyone where they need to be when they need to be there. Ugggh. Mommin aint easy. .

Apple crisp 🍁🍎🍏🍁🍎🍏🍁🍎🍏
I love apple crisp...or Apple pie but Apple crisp is much easier for me to make healthy.
Here is a healthy alternative for apple crisp that is soooo good!
Ingredients

For the apples:

5 Granny Smith Apples
1 Tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
3 Tbsp Water
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
For the crumble topping:

1 cup Regular Rolled Oats
1/2 cup Almond Flour
1/2 cup Chopped Almonds or walnuts or pecans
3/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 cup melted coconut oil or butter
1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel apples and dice into cubes of approximately equal size. In a large bowl, toss with maple syrup, water, and cinnamon. Pour apples into greased 9x9 inch baking dish.
In the same (now empty) bowl, add oats, almond meal, nuts, cinnamon, salt, coconut oil or butter, and maple syrup. Stir crumble topping together and pour into baking dish on top of apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes until apples are soft, covering pan loosely with aluminum foil halfway through to prevent from over-browning.
