Detroit has the @mogodetroit bike share now! Another very cool addition to the city since I was last here. I remember hearing about this, so it’s neat to see that it has come to life! 🚴🏻‍♀️

Throwback to yesterday: my last Sunday sunset while living in Philly and it was perfect! Special thanks to my dear friend @tiffnovak who made the most amazing pasta dinner for me right before her entire building lost power. 😂😂

Checked a few things off my Philly bucket list this morning seeing that I’ve been here for almost a year and a half and better do some things before I leave! 1. Running the Schkuoookul River (someone teach me a trick for spelling that because I still have no idea) and 2. Running the Art Museum steps while blasting Eye of the Tiger (Rocky III!) before 7am like a boss. Touristy as fudge and it was so awesome! 7 sweaty miles (half walked, let’s be clear that I’m not a runner yet lol) later and I need breakfast. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #bitsytravel

It doesn’t matter how many times I come to Grand Central Station...every damn time it’s like I’m 5 years old in a candy shop, staring all around me in awe and amazement. This is definitely one of my favorite places in the world. It’s wild to think Michigan Central Station, which was recently purchased by @ford, will actually come to life again. You spend so long looking through it’s abandoned structure that it’s hard to visualize it...and I think that is why I come here literally every single time I’m in New York. It’s always been this “...will Detroit’s train station ever come to life again? Would it look somewhat like this, lit up and full of people?” Both of these beauties were designed by the same architect firms: Warren and Wetmore, Reed and Stem. Both equally stunning, yet just living polar opposite lives at the moment..but times are changing. I’m very excited for what’s already happening in Detroit and what’s to come. Also, where are all these people going? Where are they coming from? What’s their story? So many questions always running through my head... 🤯 #bitsytravel

One thing I will 1000% miss about living in Philly: being able to get to NYC in under 2 hours for less than $10 buckaroos with a backpack full of snacks and the energy to walk for miles. The joy of this place is simply the amount of things you see around every corner. Until next time, New York. Love ya always. 🍎 #bitsytravel

Finally made it to Philly’s @therailpark and it’s awesome! The park sits atop of three unused miles of the former Reading Railroad lines that used to bring people and freight in and out of Center City, revitalizing them into a beautiful public space for for people to enjoy. This is phase one, compete with a new @obeygiant mural to accompany the city backdrop. Love it! 👌🏻 #bitsytravel

What’s one of the craziest things you’ve ever done? This wins for me. Thank you @timehop for reminding me how much I was living the dream this time five years ago. 🤟🏻😍 I met this hilarious gal from Dublin, @prendypants, on a giant orange @straynz bus as we were backpacking our way through New Zealand. 🇳🇿 A beautiful friendship blossomed, along with the entire bus, and we ended up doing the @ajhackettbungynz swing in Queenstown together. Please listen closely to the guy ask us if we want a countdown or a surprise...and then listen to @elliesinstag and @gracesecarey reactions. 😂😂 #nochoice #thiswasterrifying #livemorefearless #backpackingadventures #nevisswing #nevisplayground #straynz #bitsytravel @queenstownnz @purenewzealand @travelnewzealand

It only took me 16 short months in Philly to discover this dark and mysterious Japanese pub that comes with its very own sushi counter in the back of the kitchen. Sushi pub!!!!?? Yes, please. This hidden gem of a spot right is right in my neighborhood...and I can’t take full credit, my brother actually found it. What the heck have I been doing all this time?! @royal_izakaya on 2nd and Catherine is dope. The food is all served small plate style and insanely delicious. The fella who served us, Andrew, was the kindest soul and just made the whole experience superb. Fun fact: If you go out dressed up for a nice dinner at a cozy date spot with your brother, people will in fact think you are dating and it’s funny. 😂😂 GO TO ROYAL IZAKAYA!! 🍣🍚🥟 #bitsytravel

I have to point out the thing I love most about the neighborhood I live in: @phillymagicgardens 💜💙💚🧡❤️ Artist @isaiahzagar took it upon himself to begin beautifying the city back in the 60’s in the form of beautiful and colorful mosaic murals on the sides of houses and buildings. They can be found on almost every twist and turn throughout South Philly, which has become a daily scavenger hunt for me. I recently learned that Isaiah, along with many other pubic artists and activists, led protests back when there was a possible highway that would have replaced South Street, which is crazy to think because I walk down that street literally every single day. It connects Philly from East to West, the Delaware River all the way to the Schuylkill River - and is full of some of the most eclectic shops, bars and quirky little homes along it’s entirety. (Highways through neighborhoods of major cities have always been and always will be a terrible idea in my opinion). These guys saved South Street, and this time was later called the South Street Renaissance. Art continued to fill the neighborhoods and it truly is a beautiful discovery every single time I stumble upon a new mural. If you look close enough, there are messages scattered throughout every one. Plus, it’s also so fascinating to get up close and see the detail in every piece. 🌼 #bitsytravel
