So the first pic is a client who came to me with bitten nails. We sculpted an acrylic set on them and I filled a few times, when they had a bit of length we moved on to shellac. Swipe right to see what they look like now!!! No acrylics just shellac!!!! Beautiful!!!!! #bittennails#shellac#naturalnails#progresspic#beforeandafter

Khaki and sparkly pink nails for Cherelle! I loved making this set!
A question I get asked a lot is ‘Can I still have acrylic on my nails even if they are short and bitten?’. Yes it is possible for people with short nails to have there nails done as long as there is not swelling, infection, broken skin or isn’t sore on the hand and around the nail area. To get the best wear out of your acrylics it is very important not to use your nails as tools such as never use your nails to open a can, don’t use your nails to type on a keyboard, when washing up, gardening, cleaning and using chemicals such as bleach use gloves to protect your nails, don’t bite or pick at your nails and also if using makeup or creams use your knuckle or a spatula to get the product out of the tub.
it is so important to follow aftercare advise it prevents lifting, damage of the natural nail An nails falling off.

My client came to me with bitten nails.
I gave her a short acrylic set.
When she came back, she said it is really surprising that her nails are still on!! (Although she's bitten off the free edge of the little finger Sometimes you just cannot resist. )
If you have bitten nails, after the first set of nails, it's advised to come back earlier (like 2 weeks rather than 3-5), because the nailbed is shorter, and the product sticks on to a smaller surface.
When the nail grew a little, there is more surface to apply acrylic, which means the nails are more stable.
Her nails grow quite fast. Notice, that she has a lot of growth after only 2 weeks (3rd picture)!
I'll show you her natural nails after the next appointment.
Set myself a wee challenge for this lovely lady. She has short nails and was looking for some length for her holidays. Used my gel sculpt training to do just that. What do you think? I love them. Xx
I'm doing so well with my left hand :D I only stopped biting my right hand about 2 weeks ago but I bit my thumb again about 3 days ago -.- annoyed at myself... But it's okay ^-^ must keep going to get back to my nice nails!
